Sunny Trentino – ski variety

The gentle winter sun, excellent food and famous wines, more than 700 kilometers of ski slopes and 14 snow parks in the beautiful Dolomites – these are the components of your holiday in the Italian region of Trentino. This is a border region, so the Italian ability to cook delicious pasta and pizza and carelessly enjoy life is combined with Austrian business spirit and the Swiss desire for quality.

You can ski among the sparkling snows and picturesque peaks, and then go down to the valley and admire the vineyards, sparse forests and tiny pretty towns, visit ancient mountain villages and even get acquainted with the culture of the small people of Ladins, speaking a rare Romansh language.
You are waiting for difficult trails on which the stages of the World Cup skiing are held, or simple wide gentle slopes where even a beginner will feel confident. Having bought a Dolomiti Superski ski pass, you can glide along 350 kilometers of prepared tracks in the east of Trentino near the resorts of Val di Fassa and Val di Fiemme – they are usually chosen by those who are interested in interesting routes, varied skiing and the ability to climb peaks. and the resort of San Martino di Castrozza, which you will love if, in addition to skiing, you want to ride a sled, are interested in history and plan to visit ancient villages and nature parks.

Fans of cruise skating should go to these places. A variety of thematic routes have been laid out for them, such as Panorama, which allows you to see the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites, a ski tour to memorable places of the First World War, a Tre Valley tour combining three valleys, and the most ambitious is the Sella Ronda round-the-world tour: in about 4-5 hours you will go round the Sella massif in a circle, admire the views of the Val di Fassa and the neighboring valleys and resorts, overcome almost 40 kilometers of descents and ascents (of which you have to ski for 23 kilometers).
The western part of Trentino is 380 kilometers of routes, united by a single ski pass Skirama Dolomiti Adamello Brenta. In this area there are the resorts of Folgarida and Marilleva famous for the picturesque forest routes and children’s educational zones, famous for the excellent condition of the tracks and the latest high-speed lifts in Peyo and Passo-Tonale, the Presena Glacier, where you can go skiing even in summer, as well as the Paganella resort, which fans usually choose off-piste skiing and those who like to combine skiing with water procedures, because nearby, in the city of Andalo, a huge sports and fitness center AquaIN is open. On the same ski pass you will be able to ride in the resort of Monte Bondone. It is called the “open-air gym” because in addition to the usual skis, skates and sledges, other sports can also be practiced there – even such unusual ones as curling or ski mountaineering. And the most prestigious and expensive of the resorts in the west of Trentino is Madonna di Campiglio. They come there because of well-groomed pistes, and for the sake of hoping to be on a lift next to German racer Michael Schumacher or scandalous blonde Paris Hilton, Italian skier Alberto Tomba or top model Naomi Campbell, take part in the life of apres ski and have fun with friends in one of the night clubs.

Want to take a break from dizzying heights? Then it’s worth a couple of days to move to the southwestern region of the plateaus Folgaria, Lavarone and Lucerne. For athletes, 125 kilometers of wide routes are equipped there, 37 lifts work. It is better to come to these places with the whole family, especially if some of your relatives do not feel very confident while skiing. And if someone wants to completely change snowboarding or heavy skiing to light cross-country skiing, he will only need to sit on a ski bass or a special train and get to Passo Coe, Forte Curle or Millegrobbe – in the vicinity of these centers routes are laid for those who like to glide on the plains, snowshoe or go Nordic walking.
