Madonna di Campiglio – a glamorous ski vacation

When the sea becomes cool, and the alpine peaks are covered with thick snow, the powers that be change the beach resorts to ski resorts. The rich and famous go to Madonna di Campiglio – a real kingdom of luxury and glamor. This small resort town, which in winter turns into one of the epicenters of social life on the planet, lies in the middle of the picturesque Dolomites in the Adamello-Brenta Natural Park.

The resort has become a true legend not only due to the fact that among the skiers and snowboarders flying around you down the slope, the president of a large transnational corporation or the crown prince of some small European principality may well be climbing up. Athletes appreciate this place for 90 kilometers of carefully prepared slopes (or even 150 kilometers, considering the neighboring resorts, where you can get without taking off your skis), for a diverse interesting relief, a significant height difference of 1030 meters. If you purchase the Superskirama ski pass, you will have a pass on the slopes of several ski areas, you can ride 380 kilometers of routes in the vicinity of Madonna di Campiglio, Pinzolo, Peyo, Passo Tonale, Ponte di Legno, Monte Bondone, Folgaria-Lavarone, moving between these areas on ski bass, and in the neighboring Marilleva and Folgarida will be able to get on a chair lift.

Most of the Madonna di Campiglio slopes are simple and of medium difficulty, so the resort is perfect for beginner skiers and parents with children. Beginners can improve their descent techniques with experienced instructors from 10 ski schools. Experienced athletes will also not be disappointed: on the surrounding slopes there are several very serious steep “black” tracks, including the famous 700-meter Canalone-Miramonti – in places its slope reaches 66 degrees!

A real magnet for snowboarders is the huge Ursus Snowpark with a halfpipe, jumps and rails, designed for any level of skiing from beginners to experts. It is located in the Grostè ski area at an altitude of 2500 meters.

However, some lovers of showing themselves and seeing people in Madonna di Campiglio will not have enough time for skiing at all: a bright and varied life of après ski can make you forget about everything. After dark, the whole city is flooded with lights, first-class bars and restaurants, night clubs and discos open their doors.

When you want to take a break from the dizzying slopes and the hectic nightlife, you can go ice skating. There are two ice rinks at your service: in the open air on a lake in the center of Madonna and at the Ice Stadium in Pinzolo. Lovers of flat skis are waiting for 22 kilometers of pistes in the center of Campo Carlo Magno and 5 kilometers of lighted trails in the Sarki Valley.

Why are many skiers and snowboarders not bothered to come to Madonna di Campiglio many times in a row? Each trip promises excellent skiing and new experiences, because this resort hosts many exciting events. For example, the 3Tre World Cup stage, named after the giant, starting at the very top of the mountain, red FIS certified track. Ski mountaineering competitions, bike races on snowy slopes, antique car rally races, tastings of local products and wines and other exciting events are organized.

Getting to Madonna di Campinho is easy: the Fly ski shuttle bus runs from the airports of Verona, Bergamo, Venice and Treviso throughout the winter season. Tickets cost 18 euros one way or 30 euros round-trip, they can be bought on the Internet.
